Mga Senador, sumailalim sa random Drug testing

Boluntaryong sumailalim sa drug testing sina Senate President Vicente Sotto at Senador Gregorio Honasan.

Ginawa ito pagkatapos ng flag raising ceremony kanina para patunayan na Drug free ang Senado.

Kasabay nito inanunsyo ni Sotto ang mandatory random drug testing sa mga empleyado ng Senado kung saan 300 mga empleyado ang sumalang kanina.

Nakasaad aniya sa republic Act No. 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 na obligado ang lahat ng mga Public officials and employees na sumailalim sa drug test.

Bukod pa rito ang Memorandum Circular no 13 ng Civil Service Commission kung saan nakasaad na dapat magsumite ang lahat ng Government Agencies ng report sa Dangerous Drugs Board hinggil sa ginawang drug test at kung may mga nagpositibo.

Mismong mga doktor mula sa Department of Health ang nagtungo sa Senado para sa drug testing.

Bukod kina Sotto at Honasan, nagpa-drug test rin sina Senador Bam Aquino at Migz Zubiri.

Bukas naman aniya ang Senado na tulungan para sa rehabilitasyon ang sinumang empleyado na magpopositibo.

Senate Pres. Sotto:
“As part of the Senate’s commitment to a drug-free environment and workplace and pursuant to our revised policy guidelines, there will be a random mandatory drug testing to be conducted today, immediately following the flag raising ceremony. This will be conducted by the Senate Medical and Dental service”. For the first time, the senate will be using a five-panel test to screen all types of illegal drugs. A more sensitive and comprehensive drug test compared to the two- panel test”.
