Displaced OFWs, muling bibigyan ng trabaho sa Dubai Duty Free shops

Higit 600 overseas Filipino workers na dating nagtatrabaho sa Dubai Duty Free shops, ang muling kukunin ng kompanya sa muling pagbubukas ng ekonomiya ng United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ayon kay Labor Attaché John Rio Bautista ng Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) sa Dubai . . .“During the pandemic, Dubai Duty Free needed to layoff some workers. But with the revival of the economy here, the management reached out to us and we have a special facilitation for them. More than 600 Filipino workers will be coming back and their salary is competitive. Every week we process not less than 100 contracts for OFWs who will be re-hired.”

Bukod aniya sa oportunidad sa retail sector, sinabi ni Bautista na ang mga employer sa health sector ay nagpahayag din ng interes na kunin ang serbisyo ng Filipino health professionals.

Higit 8,000 job orders para sa household service workers (HSWs) ang naberipika ng POLO simula noong unang linggo ng Abril, habang 6,000 – 7,000 HSWs naman ang dumating na sa Dubai.

Ani Bautista . . .“The initial implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the Philippines and UAE is really fruitful. The benefits for our HSWs, as instructed by President Duterte, is stated in the comprehensive employment contract. For instance, is the provision of the minimum wage amounting to 1,500 Dirhams.”

Ikinatuwana naman ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III ang balita sabay paalala sa mga kinauukulan, na sundin ang tamang proseso at puntahan ang Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) website upang malaman kung lehitimo ang mga iniaalok na trabaho.
