J&J hiniling sa US FDA na bigyan sila ng authorization para sa booster shot ng Covid vaccine
Hiniling ng drug maker na Johnson & Johnson sa US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), na bigyan ng awtorisasyon ang booster shot ng kanilang Covid-19 vaccine para sa mga lampas 18 anyos.
Ayon kay Mathai Mammen, global head ng research and development sa J&J . . . “Our clinical program has found that a booster of our Covid-19 vaccine increases levels of protection for those who have received our single-shot vaccine to 94%.
Ayon sa J&J, kapag ang booster ay ibinigay anim na buwan makalipas ang unang dose . . . “antibody levels increased nine-fold one week after the booster and continued to climb to 12-fold higher four weeks after the booster,” anuman ang edad.
Sinabi pa ni Mammen . . . “We look forward to our discussions with the FDA and other health authorities to support their decisions regarding boosters.”
Noong Agosto ay nag-anunsiyo ang administrasyon ni pangulong Joe Biden, na bibigyan ng third dose ang mga Amerikano na nabakunahan ng Pfizer at Moderna mRNA vaccines.
Sinabi ng FDA, na magpupulong ang kanilang advisory committee sa October 14 upang talakayin ang emergency use authorization ng Moderna booster shots, at sa October 15 naman ay pag-uusapan ang J&J booster.
