Aktibong kaso ng COVID-19 sa Korte Suprema, umakyat na sa 61

Umabot na sa mahigit 60 ang aktibong kaso ng COVID-19 sa Korte Suprema.

Ayon kay Supreme Court Public Information Office Chief Atty. Brian Keith Hosaka, sa pinakahuling tala nila nitong Miyerkules ay kabuuang 61 ang kasalukuyang may COVID.

Gayunman, sinabi ni Hosaka na hindi isasara o isasailalim sa shutdown ang Korte Suprema gaya ng hinihiling ng ilang kawani.

Aniya nag-isyu na ng resolusyon ang Supreme Court En Banc na naglilimita sa bilang ng mga empleyado na papasok ng pisikal sa Korte Suprema hanggang sa March 26 at hanggang April 6 sa mga lower courts.

Ayon sa opisyal, ang ibig sabihin nito ay ang papasok lamang ay skeleton workforce na sasapat para tumugon sa mga urgent matters.

Paliwanag pa ni Hosaka na kahit sa kasagsagan ng lockdown noong nakaraang taon ay hindi nag-shutdown ang Supreme Court at ang mga hukuman sa bansa.Inadjust lang anya nila ang bilang ng mga court personnel na pwedeng pumasok para maging accessible pa rin ang hudikatura sa publiko kahit may pandemya.

“For those asking….1) 61 recorded Active Covid-19 Cases in the SC as of today. 2) As for the request for a shutdown – The Court En Banc already issued a resolution yesterday, March 23, 2021 drastically reducing the personnel in the SC from March 24-26 as well as all other courts in the NCR, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal from March 24 to April 16. A drastically reduced personnel would mean a skeleton force sufficient in number to attend to urgent matters preferably via teleconferencing. Discretion is given to the different heads of office to determine this. The SC and our courts did not close even during the height of the lockdowns last year. We only adjusted the number of employees physically reporting in order to make sure that we continue being accessible to the People”.
