Desisyon ng Korte Suprema sa Quo warranto case ni Chief Justice Sereno dapat na igalang- Malakanyang
Umapela ang Malakanyang sa publiko na dapat igalang ang desisyon ng Korte Suprema na nagpatalsik kay Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno sa pamamagitan ng Quo Warranto.
Sinabi ni Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque na ang Korte Suprema ang final arbiter sa lahat ng usaping ligal.
Ayon kay Roque sinunod lamang ng Korte Suprema ang Konstitusyon.
Sa botong 8-6 ng Supreme Court en Banc pinaboran ng mga Mahistrado ang Qou Warranto petition na inihain ng Office of the Solicitor general laban kay Sereno.
“On the SC decision on the quo warranto petition against the Chief Justice, the Supreme Court is the final arbiter of the law. The High Court has spoken. Let us respect its decision granting the Quo Warranto petition as the proper remedy and the Quo Warranto petition ruling against Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno. The Supreme Court, a co-equal branch of government, is duty-bound to uphold the Constitution. The court ruling is likewise an assertion of the supremacy of the fundamental law of the land”.
