e-Visa system ng PHL sa China, suspendido pa rin; DFA bukas sa pagkuha ng 3rd party service provider para sa e- Visa

Nagpapatuloy ang pag-repaso at assessment ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa e- Visa system sa Tsina.

Unang inilunsad ng DFA sa China ang e-Visa noong Agosto 2023, pero sinuspinde noong Nobyembre.

Wala pang maibigay ang DFA na takdang  petsa  kung kailan muli itutuloy ang e-Visa operation sa Tsina.

“After undergoing beta-testing and  implementation in Chinese service posts, the e-visa system is currently undergoing a period of reassessment and further enhancement”  ani  Leilani Feliciano, Visa Division Director, DFA- OCA.

Umabot sa 4,090 e- Visa ang naisyu ng mga foreign service post ng Pilipinas sa China bago ito inihinto.

Ayon sa DFA Office of Consular Affairs, isa sa mga naging isyu kaya nirerebyu ang e-Visa ay dahil sa magkaibang payment systems ng Pilipinas at Tsina.

Inihayag naman ng DFA na bukas ang kagawaran sa mga panukala na kumuha ito ng third party service provider para sa e-Visa.

Pero sa ngayon ang proyekto ay sa pagitan lang muna ng DFA at ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Pahayag naman ni  Foreign Affairs Usec. Jesus Domingo “ There has been no decision yet, so while certain firms have been mentioned, were looking at others as well. Some have approached us not just in certain country but other countries as well. We’ll cross the bridge whem we come to it.”
