P2k across-the-board allowance hike para sa mga guro at poll workers, aprubado na ng DBM

Inaprubahan na ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM), ang P2,000 across-the-board increase sa kompensasyon ng mga guro at iba pang poll workers na magtatrabaho sa May 12 midterm elections.
Sa isang pahayag, inanunsiyo ng DBM ang bago at mas mataas na honoraria rates para sa nasa Electoral Board.
Sinabi ng DBM, na ang chairperson ay tatanggap na ng P12,000 sa halip na P10,000, habang ang poll clerk at third member ay tatanggap na ng P11,000 sa halip na P9,000.
Humigit-kumulang P8,000 naman ang ibibigay sa support staff, mas mataas kaysa dati na P6,000.
Ayon kay DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, “This is a realization of the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., who is truly committed to ensuring we provide needed support for the welfare of our teachers.”
Mayroong humigit-kumulang 758,549 poll workers para sa national at local elections, batay sa data mula sa Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Base sa Election Service Reform Act and Comelec Resolution 10194, ang mga taong magbibigay ng serbisyo sa panahon ng halalan ay may karapatang tumanggap ng honoraria, travel allowance, communication allowance, meal allowance, at service credit.
Sinabi ng DBM, na ang budgetary requirement para sa kompensasyon ng poll workers na ina-awtorisahan sa ilalim ng 2025 General Appropriations Act ay P7.480 billion.
Nanawagan si Pangandaman sa kinauukulang mga ahensiya na tiyaking nasa panahon ang pagpapalabas ng mas mataas na kompensasyon para sa mga guro at poll workers sa darating eleksiyon.
Aniya, “I urge Comelec to ensure that our teachers and poll workers will get their compensation as quickly as possible. Dapat timely ang release ng kanilang benepisyo (The release of their benefits should be timely). They deserve nothing less.”
