Sen. Lacson itinangging tumanggap ng lobby fund sa mining firms
Umalma si Senador Panfilo Lacson sa alegasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na tumanggap ng lobby money ang mga miyembro ng Commission on Appointments para maibasura ang nominasyon ni Gina Lopez bilang Environment Secretary.
Isa si Lacson sa mga umaming hindi bumoto kay Lopez.
Katwiran ni Lacson, fitness at qualifications ang criteria ng CA sa bawat Presidential appointee lalo na sa isang miyembro ng gabinte.
Hindi aniya pumasa si Lopez sa mga hinihinging criteria.
Katunayan, hindi kwalipikado si Lopez na maupo sa anumang posisyon sa gobyero dahil sa pagiging authoritarian na mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ng saligang batas.
Isa sa tinukoy ni Lacson ang mga ipinatupad na panuntunan ni Lopez sa DENR na hindi ibinatay sa mga umiiral na batas.
“Ms. Regina Paz Lopez obviously has a lot of passion and enthusiasm, but evidently, in my own observation and analysis of her performance during the entire confirmation proceedings, she is not fit for the job nor is she qualified. Worse, she admittedly arrogated unto herself the authority which is not prescribed under the existing laws of the land. That makes her potentially dangerous as a department head.
