Senadora Leila de Lima, maghahain ng petisyon sa korte para makapag participate sa impeachment trial ni Chief Justice Sereno

Hihilingin na ng kampo ni Senador Leila de Lima sa korte na payagang makalabas ng pnp custodial center para makadalo sa impeachment trial sa senado.

Itoy oras na iakyat ng kamara sa senado ang articles of impeachment laban kay Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

Ayon kay de Lima, mismong si Senate President Aquilino Pimentel ang nagsabing mahalaga ang papel ng mga taga oposisyon sa magiging paglilitis ng senado kay Sereno.

Mas nakatitiyak aniya ang publiko na iiral ang legalidad at impartiality sa impeachment proceedings.

“I am certain that the Senate President, as a leading member of the ruling party, is quite aware that it is absolutely critical that members of the minority, such as myself, are allowed to genuinely and effectively participate in such a sensitive and potentially game-changing event in our nation’s history. I, therefore, hope for and anticipate the Senate President’s and the rest of my colleagues’ support for my participation therein, if and when the time comes”.

Kinunpirma naman ni Senate President Aquilino Pimentel na pinatahian na nila ng robe si de Lima at welcome itong dumalo sa proceedings dahil counted pa rin ito bilang miyembro ng senado.

Pero kailangang humanap aniya ito ng paraan para makadalo sa senado dahil kinakailangang physically present sakaling magkaroon na ng botohan sa impeachment
