7 bilyong pisong fuel subsidies para sa mga PUV drivers fisherfolk at farmers hiniling ng Kamara sa Malakanyang
Dahil sa hindi maawat na lingo-linggong pagtaas sa presyo ng mga produksyon petrolyo sa bansa hiniling ni house minority leader Marcelino Libanan sa Malakanyang na maglaan na ng 7 bilyong pondo para sa fuel subsidy sa mga tsuper ng pampublikong sasakyan, mangingisda at magsasaka.
Sinabi ni Libanan na panahon ng ayudahan ng gobyerno ang mga sektor na direktang tinatamaan ng fuel price adjustment.
Ayon kay Libanan ang kailangan ng mga nasa transport sektor ay 5 bilyong pisong fuel subsidy at sa mga mangingisda at magsasaka ay 2 bilyong piso.
Inihayag ng mambabatas na mayroon namang pondo ang gobyerno mula sa national budget na nakalaan para sa fuel subsidy para sa transport sector maging sa mga mangingisda at magsasaka.
Niliwanag aniya ni libanan na pinuna ng kongreso ang underspending ng gobyerno sa nakalipas na second quarter ng taong kasalukuyan kaya may mahuhugot na pondo para sa fuel subsidy sa mga apektadong sektor ng nagaganap na oil price increase sa bansa.
Ibinunyag ng mambabatas na sa ilalim ng 2024 proposed national budget mayroong karagdagang 3.5 bilyong pisong pondo para sa fuel subsidy ng gobyerno sa mga apektadong sektor kung saan 2.5 bilyong piso para sa mga tsuper ng pampublikong sasakyan na ipapamahagi sa pamamagitan ng Department of Transportation o DOTr at 1 bilyong piso para sa mga mangingisda at magsasaka na idadaan sa pamamagitan ng Department of Agriculture o DA.
Ang mga modern jeepney at UV Express ay makakatanggap ng 10 libong pisong fuel subsidy, 6,500 pesos sa iba pang public transport, 1,200 pesos sa mga delivery riders at 1000 pesos sa mga tricycle drivers.
“Our public utility vehicle (PUV) and ride-hailing drivers, along with delivery service riders, deserve highly improved financial support to help them cope with the persistent burden of high fuel prices. The fuel subsidies to public transport drivers should be enlarged to P5 billion, while the combined aid to fisherfolk and farmers should be increased to P2 billion. We should give more cash to vulnerable households that tend to be more efficient in spending money compared to government agencies.In the 2024 National Expenditure Program, the government plans to spend another P3.5 billion in fuel subsidies. The P3.5 billion is broken down into P2.5 billion for public transport drivers coursed through the Department of Transportation (DOTr) plus P1 billion for fisherfolk and corn farmers coursed through the Department of Agriculture (DA). Modern jeepney and UV Express drivers are expected to receive P10,000 each while drivers of other modes of public transport would receive P6,500. Delivery riders and tricycle drivers would receive P1,200 and P1,000, respectively.” pahayag ni House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan.
