LOS ANGELES, United States (AFP) — Target ng Disneyland na muling magbukas sa huling bahagi ng Abril na may limitadong kapasidad, matapos luwagan ng California ang kanilang COVID-19 restrictions.

Ang ikalawang pinakabinibisitang theme park sa mundo, ay halos isang taon nang sarado.

Ayon kay Disney CEO Bob Chapek . . . “Here in California, we’re encouraged by the positive trends we’re seeing and we’re hopeful they’ll continue to improve and we’ll be able to reopen our Parks to guests with limited capacity by late April.”

Sa annual shareholders meeting ng Disney, ay sinabi ni Chapek na ipagbibigay alam niya sa mga susunod na linggo ang eksaktong petsa ng pagbubukas ng theme park.

Ang pahayag ni Chapek ay kasunod ng anunsyo ng state officials nitong nakalipas na linggo, na luluwagan na nila ang restriksyon para sa theme parks at outdoor stadiums simula sa Abril a-uno, dahil mabilis nang nababawasan ang pagtaas sa bilang ng mga kaso ng COVID-19.

Ayon sa anunsyo . . . “Theme parks will only be allowed to reopen if their county drops below the state’s most-restrictive coronavirus tier, and then initially at 15 percent capacity and for California residents only.”

Sinabi ni Chapek, na hindi maaaring magbukas ang Disneyland sa unang araw ng Abril, dahil gugugol ng panahon para pabalikin ang higit 10,000 nilang staff members, at ang muling pagsasailalim sa mga ito sa training tungkol sa pandemic safety measures.

Samantala, inanunsyo rin ni Chapek sa ginanap na annual shareholders meeting ng Disney, na ang streaming service Disney+ ay lumampas na sa 100 milyon ang subscribers, 16 na buwan lamang mula nang ito ay ilunsad.
