Inanunsiyo ng Warner Bros. Discovery, na nakatakda nang gawin ang unang serye sa telebisyon ng Harry Potter, kung saan ang may-akda na si J.K. Rowling ang magiging executive producer.

Ayon sa Warner Bros. Discovery, “The series will be ‘a faithful adaptation’ of Rowling’s mega-selling books about the boy wizard and will air on the entertainment company’s rebranded streaming service Max.”

Ang anunsiyo ang kumumpirma sa mga lumabas na haka-haka kamakailan, na ginagawa na ang isang episode-based show tungkol sa magical world ng Hogwarts.

Sa isang pahayag ay sinabi ni Rowling, “Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I’m looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long form television series.”

Sinabi ng Warner Bros. Discovery, na ang mga kuwento mula sa bawat isa sa mga aklat ay magiging “isang decade-long series” na nagtatampok ng bagong cast. Wala namang ibinigay na timeline kung kailan kukunan ang palabas.

Ayon sa pinuno ng Max na si Casey Bloys, “Obviously, the ‘Harry Potter’ story is incredibly affirmative and positive and about love and self-acceptance. That’s our priority — what’s on screen. Rowling is an executive producer on the show. Her insights are going to be helpful on that.”

Magkakasama sa Max streaming service ang mga platform na HBO Max at Discovery Plus, at opisyal na ilulunsad sa United States sa Mayo 23.
