Paggawa ng military satellites uunahin ng Russia

Sinabi ng Roscosmos, ang space agency ng Russia, na babaguhin nito ang kanilang programa upang bigyang prayoridad ang paggawa ng military satellites, habang ang Moscow ay lalong nagiging isolated kasunod ng pagsalakay nito sa Ukraine.

Ayon kay Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin . . . “Our space programme, of course, will be adjusted. Firstly, priorities will be set. The priority here is the creation of spacecraft in the interests of both Roscosmos and Russia’s defence ministry. All future spacecraft will be of dual purpose.”

Inanunsiyo rin ni Rogozin na ititigil na ng Russia ang pagsu-suplay sa Estados Unidos ng rocket engines, partikular ang RD-180 engines na ginamit sa US Atlas launch vehicles at RD-181 na ginamit sa first stage ng Antares launch system.

Aniya . . . “Let them fly to space on their broomsticks.”

Ipinagbigay-alam din ng Roscosmos sa German Aerospace Center nitong Huwebes, na hindi na ito lalahok sa joint space experiments sa International Space Station (ISS).

Kabilang sa mga ito ang “Matryoshka-R” experiment para sa pag-aaral ng space radiation at “Vampire” experiment upang makabuo ng crystals para sa infrared sensors na gagamitin sa satellites.
