Pagtanggap ng bansa sa 12 pang vax certs, ikinatuwa ng DOT

Malugod na tinanggap ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ang kamakailan ay desisyon ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), na palawakin ang talaan nila ng kinikilala at tinatanggap na national Covid-19 vaccination certificates.

Sa pamamagitan ito ng pag-apruba sa 12 karagdagan mula sa mga bansa na ang mga biyahero ay papayagang bumisita sa Pilipinas kahit walang visa.

Batay sa Resolution No. 162 ng IATF-EID, ang national/state vaccination certificates ng Argentina, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Chile, Denmark, Ecuador, Indonesia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Portugal, at Spain, ang 12 sa 157 mga bansa na maaaring bumisita sa Pilipinas kahit walang visa sa ilalim ng Executive Order (EO) 408, ay tatanggapin at kikilalanin bilang iba pang proofs of vaccination na kailangan bilang entry requirements sa bansa.

Ang mga ito ay karagdagan sa national Covid-19 vaccination certificates na inaprubahan sa mga naunang resolusyon ng task force.

Ang kapareho ring resolusyon ang nag-aatas sa Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), at sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) One Stop Shop (OSS), tanggapin lamang ang vaccination certificates na kinikilala ng IATF-EID.

Ayon kay tourism chief Berna Romulo-Puyat . . . “The DOT commits to working with other member agencies of the IATF-EID in making the travel process and requirements to the country easier for balikbayans and foreign tourists alike. This move will greatly help in restoring jobs under the heavily impacted tourism industry.”

Aniya . . . “We are grateful to the IATF-EID for this development as we aim to make travel as seamless as possible for our travelers from visa-free countries. We look forward to opening our doors to guests from all over the world, but of course, with all the necessary health and safety protocols in place.”

Meanwhile, Puyat noted that the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) scheme that has been agreed by the governments of the Philippines and Singapore will further boost arrivals from the latter.
