Sinabi ng pulisya na nakasamsam sila ng cocaine na sapat para suplayan ang New Zealand sa loob ng 30 taon, matapos makasilo ng napakalaking bundle ng mga droga na lumulutang sa Karagatang Pasipiko.

Sinabi ni New Zealand police commissioner Andrew Coster, na ang bundle na naglalaman ng 81 bales ng cocaine ay tumitimbang ng 3.2 tonelada at may street value na humigit-kumulang $316 million.

Ang “Five Eyes” alliance, isang intelligence-sharing network na ilang dekada na ang tanda ay binubuo ng US, Canada, Britain, Australia at New Zealand.

Sinabi pa ni Coster, “There is no doubt this discovery lands a major financial blow right from the South American producers through to the distributors of this product.”
