Mga puganteng Korean na sangkot sa fraud at voice phishing sa SoKor, inaresto ng NBI sa Pampanga dahil naman sa illegal online gambling
Arestado sa pinagsanib na operasyon ng National Bureau of Investigation – Pampanga District Office (NBI-PAMDO) at ng military intelligence ng Philippine Air Force (PAF) ang apat na Koreano dahil sa umano’y pagkakasangkot sa illegal online gambling sa Porac, Pampanga.
Ayon sa NBI, dalawa sa mga nahuling Koreano ay nadiskubreng pugante na wanted sa South Korea at nasa red notice ng Interpol dahil sa kasong fraud.
Kinilala ang mga pugante na sina Kim Minha at Kim Haesu na sinasabing mga miyembro ng Korean voice phishing syndicate na nag-o-operate sa Pilipinas mula pa noong 2017.
Sinabi ni Atty. Rolando Paruli Jr., NBI-PAMDO Executive Officer “Case stemmed from information provided to us by the Philippine Airforce Intel … after the arrest we were able to verify from the Immigration that these two are wanted fugitives. They were operating voice phishing or scamming since 2017 in our country having Korean victims”.
Pahayag naman ni John Romer Venturillo, Agent on Case, “These korean fugitives disguise themselves as bankers and then call the victims and after getting personal information regarding the bank accounts they will drain the amount inside the account in Korea they have amassed a total of approximate $840,000 or in Philippine Peso its 49 million”.
Kinasuhan na ang dalawa sa korte at ang dalawa pa nilang kasamahan sa illegal online gaming na sina Kim Minsuu at Jang Jin ng paglabag sa Cybercrime Prevention Act.
May isa pang babaeng Korean na kasamahan ang mga suspek na nasa red notice na patuloy na tinutugis ng NBI.
“On the basis of the red notice we still have one person of interest a female Korean din ito unaccounted as of now that is why Director Santiago made it clear na tuluy-tuloy ang operasyon sa remnants ng POGO which is resulting in several scamming activities para ma-account ang international fugitives” ani NBI Spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin.
